Entrepreneur in Oltenia: the region closed its calls — your company has not closed its options
Oltenia spent its regional digitalization money early. This guide walks through the three doors still open — one of which only two counties can use.
The digitalization funding map for a company in Craiova, Slatina or Râmnicu Vâlcea reads quickly, but it deserves a correct reading. The regional door is closed: the SME call of the Sud-Vest Oltenia Regional Programme, which offered non-repayable grants of €10,000 to €75,000 as de minimis aid at a maximum funding rate of 90%, ran from 25 June to 24 August 2024, and no new round has been announced — if your company is among the winners, go straight to the implementation side of this site; the rest of this guide is not about you. One national door is verifiably open, and it is narrow: POCIDIF 2.1 (the Smart Growth, Digitalization and Financial Instruments Programme) takes applications until 30 September 2026 from companies holding an authorized technology CAEN code, with a ceiling of €1,500,000 where the project result is an innovative software solution. The MEDAT programmes for manufacturing, trade and women's entrepreneurship run in sessions, and Start-Up Nation has an announced second edition; each has its own fact sheet on this site, and the window in force should be read there rather than assumed from a programme name. The third door concerns only Dolj and Gorj, and it is not open either: the Programul Tranziție Justă (Just Transition Programme) funds the economic reconversion of the transition counties, but its SME investment call ran from 20 December 2023 to 20 May 2024 and is closed, and the two new guides drafted for the transition counties had finished public consultation without a launch date at our verification. What it changes is the shape of the contest, not the calendar: when a call does open there, applicants compete inside the eligible counties rather than nationally. Whichever door fits, our part stays the same: analysis of the company's processes, a software budget breakdown built on the relevant guide's structure and, at implementation, delivery with the reimbursement documentation kept current. Eligibility itself is ruled on in writing by the authority managing the call — that verdict is not ours to issue.

How we help
Three doors, verified and current
Regional closed, national selective, PTJ for Dolj and Gorj — each door's real status with the official source beside it, not hearsay.
The PTJ picture, stated as it is
Dolj and Gorj compete inside county-restricted calls rather than national ones — but the SME investment call is closed and no new guide was launched at our verification date.
Implementation for the 2024 winners
Oltenia's regional projects are entering their final years — we deliver the software component with the contract deadlines in plain sight.
Frequently asked questions
Transport company in Craiova: what digitalization funding is realistically within reach?
It depends on the investment. POCIDIF 2.1 does not apply without an authorized technology CAEN code, and the regional call closed on 24 August 2024. That leaves the national MEDAT programmes, where eligibility is read off the CAEN list of the session actually in force rather than off the programme name, and — for a company implementing in Dolj — a future Just Transition call, none of which had been launched at our verification date. The eligibility ruling comes in writing from the authority managing the call; our work starts once the route is settled.
What kind of digital projects does the Just Transition Programme fund for companies in Gorj?
PTJ funds productive investments that create jobs in the transition counties — with the digital component (automation, production systems, digitalized workflows) entering as part of the investment. The SME investment call itself ran from 20 December 2023 to 20 May 2024 and is closed; new guides for the six transition counties had finished public consultation but had not been launched at our verification date. The concrete calls and calendars are managed at national level; our PTJ pages keep the statuses verified.
Is there any point hoping for a new regional round in Oltenia?
Hope is not a plan: the call's allocation was reduced by a general corrigendum in April 2026, from €3,125,726 to €2,334,236, rather than topped up, and ADR Sud-Vest Oltenia had announced nothing new at our last verification. If that changes we update these pages on our monthly verification cycle — but your company's strategy should be built on windows that exist, not on wished-for ones.
