Sud-Muntenia companies and digitalization: a guide for the region that never gave them a dedicated call

Seven industrial counties, zero regional digitalization calls for companies. This guide explains the anomaly — and the national routes that compensate for it.

Northdan Soft is a software supplier, not a funding consultancy, and is not affiliated with any managing authority or development agency. Programme information is indicative — always check the conditions in the programme's official applicant guide.

Search for a digitalization grant from Ploiești or Pitești and you will discover a regional anomaly: Sud-Muntenia, for all its automotive, oil and agri-food industry, launched no call dedicated to SME digitalization in the 2021–2027 period — the priority's budget went to digitalizing public administrations and to the regional data centre, leaving companies only the general competitiveness objective RSO1.3, where a digital component could ride along inside a broader investment — and where all five calls were closed or not yet launched on 30 July 2026. One regional route did open recently, though: on 20 July 2026 ADR Sud-Muntenia launched a preselection questionnaire for a pilot call, Grants for innovation and SME capacity building in the Sud-Muntenia region, with an allocation of roughly €29 million — run with the World Bank Group under the European Regional Competitiveness Policy Lab, and randomized, so that the process also produces a group that will not receive funding. It funds research and innovation for technological maturity, not the purchase of off-the-shelf systems. For pure digitalization, companies in Argeș, Călărași, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Ialomița, Prahova and Teleorman still play on the national board. The routes, in order of relevance: POCIDIF 2.1 (the Smart Growth, Digitalization and Financial Instruments Programme) for companies with technology CAEN codes — open until 30 September 2026, with non-repayable aid between €200,000 and €1.5 million for an innovative software solution; the MEDAT sessions (Micro-industrialization, Trade, Women Entrepreneur) for other profiles, on budget-dependent calendars; and for Prahova-based companies, the lines of the Programul Tranziție Justă (Just Transition Programme) — Prahova being among the eligible counties, a regional ace few think to play. For every route, we build the software component of the dossier: analysis, architecture, a budget broken down on the guide's cost categories, followed by implementation with the reimbursement documentation included.

How we help

The regional anomaly, explained honestly

We do not promise you a regional call that does not exist — we show you why it is missing and where the money for your company actually sits.

Prahova and the Just Transition ace

Prahova companies can access just-transition funding — a concrete competitive advantage we build explicitly into their plan.

A national-grade technical dossier

POCIDIF or MEDAT: the software component of your dossier built on the exact guide of the chosen programme, with a realistic budget breakdown.

Frequently asked questions

We supply the automotive industry from Argeș — can a production management system be funded?

Not regionally, and not this minute: the region's competitiveness objective RSO1.3 holds five calls, all closed or not yet launched on 30 July 2026. The route is national — the MEDAT micro-industrialization sessions accept investments with digital production components, though only SME Eco-Tech was taking applications at that same check. We build the process analysis and the budget breakdown now, so the project is ready the week a session opens.

Why did Sud-Muntenia skip company digitalization when other regions funded it?

Because the allocation of the digitalization objective went to the public sector. The programme public call register lists exactly two calls under that objective, both closed and both for administrations: the Sud-Muntenia Regional Data Centre and investments in institutional IT infrastructure and equipment. There was no dedicated line for companies in this cycle.

IT company in Ploiești: POCIDIF 2.1 looks big for us — from what project size does it make sense?

The entry threshold is €200,000 in non-repayable aid and the ceiling rises to €1,500,000 for an innovative software solution, so the project must credibly carry at least the minimum budget across an implementation period of at most 24 months. Size is not the real filter, though: the call requires an authorised ICT CAEN code and an innovative result taken to market, evidenced by contracts or invoices, so digitalizing your own operations stays ineligible whatever it costs.
