A company in the North-West with a digitalization project: the money map in five questions
Five questions entrepreneurs in Cluj, Oradea or Baia Mare keep asking us — with the answers that save months of searching.
This guide follows the real questions companies in the region ask us, in the order they ask them. First: is anything still open regionally? Call PRNV/2023/121/1 for SME digitalization closed on 25 November 2024 at 10:00 and the 2026 indicative calendar, revision 1 of 26 March 2026, contains no new SME digitalization round. One regional call is still open to companies, though: 132.A.2, for initial investments by SMEs inside smart-specialization parks, accepts projects until 31 December 2026 at 10:00. Second: then where does the money come from? From the national level: POCIDIF 2.1 (the Smart Growth, Digitalization and Financial Instruments Programme) for companies with technology CAEN codes — open until 30 September 2026, with serious grant sizes — plus the MEDAT sessions for manufacturing and trade, and Start-Up Nation for startups on its own calendar. Third: what can the money buy? Typically ERP and CRM systems, process automation, e-commerce platforms, cybersecurity; each applicant guide carries its exact list. Fourth: how do I prepare so I do not miss the window? With the project defined before the call: processes analyzed, architecture sketched, a budget breakdown for the software component. Fifth: who builds it? Here we answer with an interest, but verifiably: we do, as a software vendor that delivers the funding documentation along with the code — from Cluj to Satu Mare, at the standard of the IT ecosystem this region lives in.

How we help
Answers in the order of your questions
The guide follows an entrepreneur's real path — from 'what is open?' to 'who builds it?' — without consultant jargon.
Regional and national statuses, kept current
Every programme mentioned has a fact sheet with a verified status and an official link — you are never working from last year's information.
Preparation of the software component
Analysis, architecture and budget breakdown before the window opens — so your company submits in the first week instead of documenting in the last.
Frequently asked questions
My Cluj company is in IT — what is the most direct route to funding right now?
POCIDIF 2.1: the national call for SMEs with technology CAEN codes, open until 30 September 2026, with non-repayable aid between €200,000 and €1.5 million for innovative services and applications. It is the most valuable window of the moment for your profile — the full fact sheet is on this site, with the official source linked.
We manufacture furniture near Oradea — which programme fits an ERP project?
Short term, the MEDAT sessions (Micro-industrialization) when they open — they accept investments with digital components; regionally, call 132.A.2 applies only if the investment sits inside a smart-specialization park. Meanwhile the ERP can be phased: the modules that touch stock and production first, the rest at a later window.
What mistake do companies in the region make most often in digitalization dossiers?
They write the funding application with vague specifications (an integrated IT system) and discover during implementation that evaluators, vendors and their own team understood three different things, while changing the budget after contracting is difficult. The antidote is an architecture and a module-level budget breakdown, with quantities and deliverables, produced before submission.
