When an app is the right answer, and when it is not

An app is justified when your users work offline or in poor connectivity, when you need push notifications that reliably reach them, when you depend on the camera, GPS, Bluetooth or biometrics, or when usage is frequent enough that a home-screen icon changes behaviour. Field service, logistics, loyalty programmes and anything opened daily by the same people tend to clear that bar comfortably.

It is usually the wrong answer for occasional transactions, for audiences who will never accept an installation step, and for any product where the same budget spent on a fast responsive web application would reach several times more people. We tell you which side you fall on in the first conversation, with the reasoning written down, even when the honest answer is a smaller project for us.

Native or cross-platform — how do you choose?

By feature list, not fashion. Heavy sensor use, Bluetooth peripherals or demanding graphics push us native; typical business apps — forms, lists, notifications, payments — are served excellently by one cross-platform codebase.

Do you publish under our developer account?

Always. The Apple and Google accounts, certificates and store listings are created in your company’s name, so you keep full control even if we ever part ways.

What does maintenance look like after launch?

OS updates, new device sizes and store policy changes arrive on Apple’s and Google’s schedule, not yours. We offer a monthly maintenance retainer that keeps the app compliant and crash-free.

Can you build only the app if we already have a backend?

Yes, and it is a common arrangement. We consume your existing APIs, and where those were designed for a web client we usually propose a thin mobile-facing layer rather than reshaping the backend — it leaves your current system untouched and gives the app the payload sizes a mobile connection actually needs.
