Magento: the heavy artillery of online retail

The platform for large retailers — multi-store, B2B and catalogs of hundreds of thousands of products.

Magento — commercially Adobe Commerce today — is the platform large retailers choose: it natively manages multiple stores from one installation, catalogs of hundreds of thousands of products, per-customer negotiated pricing for B2B and complex approval workflows. No other open-source platform covers that territory as completely. We say it plainly from the start though: Magento is oversized for most shops. It demands powerful hosting, more expensive specialized developers and serious maintenance budgets — money an ordinary store never earns back. We work with Magento where it is genuinely justified: retailers with multi-country operations, B2B distributors with thousands of partners, catalogs that WooCommerce or PrestaShop can no longer carry. For everyone else, the honest recommendation is a leaner platform.

What you get

Multi-store from one installation

Different brands, countries and catalogs managed from a single central system — expansion does not multiply infrastructure.

Industrial-grade B2B

Negotiated per-customer pricing, file-based quick orders, credit limits and approval workflows — features other platforms merely imitate.

Catalogs without a practical ceiling

Hundreds of thousands of products with complex attributes and layered pricing rules — Magento's architecture was designed for this volume.

Frequently asked questions

Is Magento worth it for our store?

Our quick test: multi-store, B2B with negotiated pricing, or a catalog beyond ~50,000 products — yes, let's talk. A single B2C shop with a few thousand products — honestly no; you would pay for complexity you never use.

Can Magento 1 still run safely?

No — Magento 1 no longer receives security updates, and Adobe publishes the official per-version support calendar. A store left there runs at its own risk, card data included. Migration is planned in stages, with a module inventory and redirects — it is a project, not a simple update.

Why does Magento development cost more?

The platform's architecture is large and strict: even apparently small changes touch multiple layers, and good Magento developers are a rare specialization. The cost is justified only when you genuinely use the enterprise capabilities.
