PrestaShop is the open-source e-commerce platform that started in France and grew up around the realities of European commerce: multi-language stores, per-country VAT rules and compliant invoicing are part of the core, not afterthoughts. It has a strong historical community — many established shops have run on it for years, and we build custom modules for them, tune their performance and keep them updated. For new stores we recommend it when multiple languages and European markets are in the plan from the start, or when the team already knows the platform. Honestly though: the ecosystem's pace has slowed compared to WooCommerce, good commercial modules cost money, and major version upgrades are historically painful — factors we weigh together before any commitment.
